That's very true. I wore my left leg out in those three weeks! But once
you get you're CDL you can learn to float.

 

The classes in Cartersville are great. Some of the guys are having trouble but the rest try to help them. Next week is hell week but we should have no problems. Got a new instructer coming in.

 

Anybody got any tips on that double clutch upshift. Its been so long that I am still having trouble with it. The rest of it is coming along just fine.

 

Try this - Someone much smarter than I taught me this and it works well for me.

Think of it this way - 15 = 6th, 25 = 7th. 35= 8th, 45=9th. Meaning that when your speed hits 15 - you should be in sixth, when you hit 25 you should be in 7th and so on. I used it for downshifting and it really helped me and I still use it to this day. I know the sound of my truck now so It's easier to guage but early on it really paid off for me.

yea thats true once u get ur own truck u can do as you please on shifting but my trainner i had never let me float or use the cruise control the 5-6 weeks i was with him and mike millis will not like if u are floating and he will tell u that so make sure u can double shift b4 u go to one of the terminals and haft to spend another couple of weeks with ur trainner because of a simple shifting problem...after that ur on ur own making money and seeing the country lol
