I tend to notice that I hear less chatter the further west I get... But going east, once I hit about Des Moine, IA I start to hear a lot more... And Ohio is always alive with chatter... I run channel 19 strictly, unless I want to have a more private conversation or am running with 2 or 3 other guys. Then we will all go to a different channel so we can hear each other easier.

If you really want to hear that CB come to life... Find a major traffic backup on the interstate and turn on channel 19.

The chatter on CB 19 was really sparkin' yesterday in Baton Rouge. It seems the long, westbound over-the-swamp route taken by I-10 was blocked and partially blocked for hours due to a truck wreck at MM117, causing a bumper-to-bumper crawl and even total stoppages that stretched for miles. Since US 190 parallels the Interstate, it was an excellent four-lane and uncrowded option to avoid all the problems. Those of us on 19 heard about the situation and the solution. Those not, didn't.

So, is CB in use anymore? Yep, for those who choose to use it.

    MBAngel Thanks this.
