My thoughts exactly. That would be like banning the use of "walkie-talkies". So stupid. But as long as people are willing to bend over and spread for each law that is proposed, then the absurdities will continue.

I'm going to need something more than hearsay before I buy into this, though it wouldn't surprise me if someone were trying for something like this. Maybe they should be all inclusive, such as banning police officers from toying around on their laptops as they go down the road, as well.

I don't see how this could even be remotely true. Almost all of the shippers I go to utilize the CB. And a lot of the places I unload at too.

Plus, if used correctly, the CB is a very valuable tool.

    Gotta be hogwash.

If anything, I could imagine two possibilities:

DOT could ban using the CB while in motion.

Or the FCC could want the frequencies to sell off, like they did with broadcast analog TV

My lead instructor at Chipewa Valley Technical College told all the classes that if they were going to buy a CB to get one with Bluetooth becasue those are the only ones that will be legal after June.

If you think about it, whats the difference of yapping on a cb than yapping on a cell phone? I dont mean, asking for information, or checking in at a customer. I mean, there are conversations that are held for miles and miles at a time about what "Sherry" said at the office to "JoeBlow". No difference than having a cell phone stuck to your ear, or the bluetooth growing out of the side of your head. Now, Cobra has the bluetooth cb so you can talk on the cell without looking like you are talking on your cell..lol....
In no way am I against CB's, but sometimes I wonder why I even have mine turned on.

    BBradUMA Thanks this.
