I'm confused, so will get out of here. He's been a member since 2008.

    1 'Move' out of state

    2 Get CDL-B

    3 'Move' back to WA

    4 Profit?

I looked into doing this when I lived in Tacoma. Had an friend in OR that was going to let me 'move in'. Never went through with it but it was a possibility

    thanks for the responses.

Chinatown, I was asking for a friend who is not on the truck forum.

Rocketscott, yes, this was the sort of out-of-the-box solution I was looking for... still yeah, it comes with other headaches. Thank you though.

I wish your friend success; probably most of us on here do.

Not sure about Washington state but pretty sure for a b all you gotta do is pass the written tests and rent a class b vehicle and do the road, pretrip, and the skills test. You dont' need school for that. Class b vehicle is a lot cheaper than an A. I've known folks in Ga that got theirs that way. Then again with all the changes they made for new drivers don't know if that applies to B class as well.
