See....now let me tell you WHY this information is important for us to give you an education and advice.
1). If that speeding ticket is 15 mph. (or more) over posted speed...that is a serious violation in this industry, and your trucking application MAY get thrown out---or the trucking company's insurance company can take a closer look at you and MAY give you a chance.
2). Couple the "Unregistered Vehicle" with a speeding ticket (even though they were two separate incidences), and a trucking company's insurance company will most likely see a pattern (in a short period), and tell the company to pass on you.
3). A cell phone violation IS a serious violation in this industry (they don't care that it was in a personal vehicle). In a commercial vehicle, you can be fined up to $2,750.00...and company up to $10,000.00....and both of you get dinged on CSA. Now-a-days most companies have you read and sign a "No Cell Phone Use" form that outlines the law and it's provisions.
Until one or more of these violations disappear from your MVR (usually 4 years from conviction date), I'm afraid your application will most likely be passed over for someone who has kept their nose clean.
Now; you can make all the excuses you want...the DMV don't care....trucking companies don't care....and Insurance companies darn sure don't care. It was YOUR responsibility to follow up on any and all tickets that YOU received on YOUR time in YOUR vehicles.
I'm not trying to be mean, and I'm not trying to crush anyone's hopes---just trying to show you how this industry is going to view your MVR.

If you consider driving an unregistered vehicle while distracted by a cell phone a quota stop, you are probably better off not driving a CMV.

Did you not know when ypur license expires? Why rely on mailings from dmv? Im in dmv like 2 weeks prior to expiration. You do not need a reminder when your license expires. The date is on your license itself. It expires on your birthday. Jeez

please refrain from doing the usual, and that is, passing off blame to someone else. the cop saw you on the cell phone, clearly a violation while driving in that state.
then you are driving an unregistered vehicle, clearly yet, another violation in that state.
you are to blame for those actions of stupidity, and the cop was doing his/her job.
man up and admit you were at fault, instead of saying it was a quota stop.
i clearly have no respect for you, and i hope no one else here does as well, for your passing the blame game.
you claim your state said, they mailed out the notice, wanna know what..?? they did...if it went to the wrong address as you say, then why..??? did you move and fail to notify them..???
you then too, "blame" the mailman......??
when are you going to grow the crap up and admit the problems are your own making, like speeding, or was the speed limit signs suddenly turned around by remote control, and the cop then chased you down....??
good luck, i hope the day you go to the DMV, it is 100 degree's outside, and humidity of about 110% and the a/c in the DMV is broken down, and the line is full of people that do not use deodorant...
oh wait, maybe then you'll blame God for the hot weather, and the stores for not selling enough deodorant... -
in my state, BY LAW, they ARE NOT required to mail out renewal notices. But they do....!!!!
in this way, no one should take for granted, they will automatically get the notice, in the mail.
