The money does not matter. Its a expense. Chargeable to taxes.
ATS Flew me to Piedmont from KBWI Baltimore and we were there in a hour. Easy peasy. I think it was about a 200 dollar fare in those days retail. And they spent a certain amount of money hiring me despite several mental health evaluations telling the company things like I will log sleeper berth two hours from customer rather than deliver that load outside of legal HOS. The company wanted secretly drivers who replied to that test question that they will provide a service outside of HOS limitations.
Its all water under the bridge. You are expensive. All of that charged off against taxes.
Now if you were a immigrant from overseas who hold a class A? Then you are a big money item pay you .28 a mile make you happy while Uncle Sam pays company 7000 dollars to put you to work.
You never know truly what goes on during any orientation. The best ones are those that don't take three days to grind out. Maybe a hour, road trip and a talking to plus a records insurance etc checked and done. Roll out on your first load by lunch. We had a few of those even in 2001 with wife and I our time was about 90 minutes from walking in to meet greet, sign papers and pick up a million in narcotics at memphis McKesson a few hours down the road. Could not be better, smoother or faster. None of that 3 day BS or dog and pony orientations.

But I know Prime & other super-megas would. When I went to Prime, I was almost done with orientation when I got called in & they told me that they were having trouble verifying some experience. I made it, but I know they wouldn't hesitate to send someone home. You're not an employee yet, so they don't owe you anything & they absorb the cost through subsidies & write-offs. -
Typically, states don't have an expired DOTmedical card fine. If the certificate expires, though, you may have to retest or reinstateyour license and there may be costs involved inthat process.
-
If you were required to get a medical card, keep a close eye on the expiration date. If you don’t complete your CDL medical card renewal on time, you'll lose your CDL privileges, which could cost you valuable income.
-
Some states no grace period anymore.
buddyd157 Thanks this. -
No recent experience . hasn't driven in almost 2 years. So its like he is starting over plus a suspended license.

If you move or whatever. You won't get a letter.
Gooberment mail can't be forwarded.
I had that very issue. Letter sent and returned because it can't forward.buddyd157 Thanks this. -
they go thru an entire process of "vetting" an applicant, and can simply write it off, if they send one, or 101 back home.
go thru the process, and hope for the best.
