@Kelly and Justin Perdew - you can probably apply to the schools listed.....

There is a guy on the "other forum" that apparently did some serious time. He has been with CFI for about 5 years. To the OP........ As mentioned before, answer all questions honestly on your applications. Don't give more or less info than required. I'm sure these companies will probably have "more questions", should they consider hiring you. You sound like a solid humble guy trying to get a new start on life. The right attitude can get you in the door with one of these outfits. Good luck. Keep us posted. I would inquire with some of these companies prior to signing on with ANY private schools. I hear CFI has a pretty solid in house training program, as do some of the others mentioned. I would hate to see you pony up 5-10 grand for schooling, only to find that no one will hire you.
firemedic2816, Otter617 and Chinatown Thank this. -
Some drivers have done 20+ yrs. and had no problem becoming truckers.
I don't know of anyone that has a halo floating over their head.firemedic2816, Trucking in Tennessee and Otter617 Thank this. -
Wow Thankyou all for the positive responses .This is all really helpful I was getting down with the lack of response from Roehl.I was very transparent in divulging the past offenses. All assaults ,had a bad temper as a younger man been out of the system for 8 yrs and really am trying to just become a Man with a career instead of “just having a job” Thank you everyone that has responded .I needed a glimmer of hope

I've seen this before here. What is the other forum? Class A drivers, or the Ag one? Is there a beef?
-
Never admit to using pot or other drugs. You may be asked, in a friendly way, if you have. If you say 'yes' you may be sent home with no job.
One person on this forum recently said , "I'm an honest person and just can't lie. I tried it in high school, so what's the big deal. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I tell a lie."
Guess what, that person admitted it and was fired. Don't be fooled by anyone telling you, telling a lie shows you have no character and you're a horrible person. Not true!650cat425, Speed_Drums, Otter617 and 3 others Thank this. -
Trucking Truth. No beef that I know of. The guy had felonies and got hired by CFI. It is not first hand knowledge on my part. Just picked it up by reading. I peruse lots of different forums, trucking and otherwise.God prefers Diesels Thanks this.

Nobody would ask that in an interview because they're just "making conversation". They aren't your friend.
"yes sir", "no sir", and only embellish when you have to. Their job is to vet bad apples, because hiring and firing costs money.
