Live in Florida , My work place has two properties divided by a public street that has street signal lights to cross from one to another. We drive a fuel truck using the lights, do I need a cdl license to cross the street.

Yes. Once that truck hits public pavement, all laws are in effect regarding pubilc safety. Top of that you'll need your hazmat and tankers endorsements as well. At least that's what I have learned .

Yup. Get into a accident at that light - even if it's not your fault - and see how fast things go wrong, without a CDL. You need one.

    86vette Thanks this.

Hell yes. Get a CDL and a Hazmat and a Tanker endorsement.

One wheel on ANY public surface anywhere requires this.

Now if your company talked to the town council and bought the street, closed it off pernamently to all traffic and put gravel down on it sure you can shuttle...

Add to this, see how fast your employer craps on you and tells them you didn't have permission to drive the truck. I've seen this happen before a few times.

86vette, Fatmando and RedRover Thank this.

It's also worth mentioning that if you get caught in that truck without your CDL/HME then it's not tickets your looking at, you will be arrested and charged with many violations.

    86vette and RedRover Thank this.
