If you are in the same situation as me, my med card and CDL expire in the next couple of months, and if it were not for this RealID thing, I could renew it by mail..... but noooooo.... since my state hadn't implemented it until just after I passed my CDL tests (they also hadn't implement the veteran identifier yet), I had planned on getting home so I could do it all at the same time..... makes sense right?

But due to this covid 19 thing, my state closed the DMV field offices and all medical resources are being redirected to more serious medical issues indefinitely....

There was guidance released today giving us until June to resolve the issue....

Drivers could face hurdles in renewing CDL, DOT medical card

At some point you will renew all that when they reopen. Otherwise the Nation will just run increasingly over their renewal limits until Xmas or next year or three years. At some point the DMV must be reopened again. and that will create more problems trying to get it renewed.

I know that, the extension is until June for now, but that doesn't mean that I won't be watching for updates to the situation and trying to get it done as soon as possible.... I plan on making an appointment as soon as they become available...

Bring a lunch. It took me almost 4 hours to renwew my CDL and take my HazMat test. I got lucky, the nationwide system went down for a few hours and 90% of the people in line before me left.
