I go and take the permit tests and passed. I'm jusssst about to get the permit and the dmv clerk says "how many points do you have?" I said not enough to disqualify me, why? She says hang 1...looks at her computer and says "when was the last time you were in North Carolina?" Me:13 yrs ago. Ok call this number when you get home and find out why your driving priviledges are suspended in NC! :biggrin_25524: HUH?! I call and was reminded that I paid a ticket 13 yrs ago in Columbia County, NC. Turns out I paid it late and a "failure to appear" was issued. So in spite of paying the fine failure to appear fines, etc. The law in NC is that if you receive a failure to appear your licence and/or driving privledges are suspended. Oh welll, problem now cleared up! Found it funny though that my NC driving priveledge has been suspended for that long.

yeah - I find it interesting that states don't seem to take it upon themselves to alert you of these things. I wonder why that is?

Good question. It would have made more sense if I would have been arrested anytime I got a ticket in the last 13 years, no matter what state I was in. Not that I would have rather that, mind you, just that it would make a whole lot more sense.

Typically, though, FTA for a traffic offense is not an extraditable charge. Not even from the next county.
Or, rather, the issuing county won't bother to extradite - it's not worth the money.

It's odd that none of the LEOs who stopped you mentioned it, but there's nothing that says they have to.

As for the CDL test i got the practice test with questions and answers with a study guide . and it was quite good it was still in the refining stage with the program , when i had conflicting things on it i emails them and they got right back to me ,,,

I took all the endorsements except hazmat and bus
i only had 3 wrong out of them all
( make sure you read questions correctly )
i took gen and air combo , then came back for tank and dbl trips
test took less than 20 min , each time
be sure to read the section your going to take before you test just as a refresher , in Wisconsin you don't pay to take the test until you pass it
the study guide i used made it very easy to pass the tests
I'm studying hazmat now but I'm not going to take it at this time , unless i need it , but i still want to know it , in case the schooling wants to cover it ,
but time line was got CDL guide on Monday Friday i tested for GEN/air/combo , tue i took tank / dbl.trips , Thursday got my med card and got my pic took for my lic, CDLI

    now researching schools ,

I'd go ahead and get the Hazmat as well. It's an easy test too, and opens a wide range of post-school jobs

Groovy shoes. I got my results back from TSA in 8 business days. From what I'm reading online, that seems to be about average, though they'll tell you when they take your prints that it could take 'up to 6 weeks'.
