Hey guys. I am looking into getting my CDL, and was wondering about the hernia part. I seem to have an umbilical hernia, but it doesn't cause me much discomfort or anything. My family Doc blows it off everytime I ask. Would this be something that could disqualify me from passing the physical?
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know what type of meds that can keep you from passing the physical? Is there a site that tells you? On five different types of meds and was wondering if they would keep me passing.....any info is greatly appreciated.

Now, he moved on to another job that required lifting, and it did aggravate the hernia, and he eventually had to have it fixed. And got NO work comp help with it either.
If you can, get it fixed, asap. Its your best option. -
IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT-FIX IT. I HAD A SMALL ONE & AM FINE NOW. LEAVE IT ALONE & YOU MAY SEE IT GROW INTO A LARGE DONUT OR GRAPEFRUIT. UGLY & POSSIBLY DANGEROUS. i HAVE SEEN THIS ON OTHER MEN & TO ME IT IS SCARY YO HAVE MY GUTS ON THE OUTSIDE OF MY BODY!

What about prior health issues? Do they ask you about possible issues like Rheumatoid Arthritis?
Thanks -
does anyone kno the rate your blood press. should be at and is that all for the health part??

does anyone know if a FAA class 2 flight physical can work for the CDL physical? I am a commercial pilot wanting to renew my CDL but don't want to take another physical if I can help it. I know the flight physical is more in depth and has more requirements than a cdl physical.

I would think when the Doc gives you your flight physical and if he/you has the CDL long form, he could just fill out 2 forms at the same time (both physicals). You cannot take your flight physical form to the DMV and pass it off as a CDL long form.

Alot of trucking companies make you take another DOT physical when you hire in.

i take blood pressure med, cholesterol med and everything is ok. i just have to go get a med card every year. i could be like these other guys and lie and get a 2 year card, but that might bite you in the long run if you ever had a medical issue arise while driving.
