Long story short I was in a motorcycle accident last year and broke my neck. With that came nerve damage and I no long have use of my left arm. Beside a little bit of finger movement. I just wanna know if I could still obtain my cdl? I live in Massachusetts if that'll help with answers. Thanks

If you can not hold the steering wheel and control the vehicle in an emergency situation the doctor will disqualify you. Also if there's any problems with you spine the doctor may order more testing to see if you can drive safely. The FMCSR spell it out in 391.43 Medical examination; certificate of physical examination.
Puppage Thanks this. -
A few months ago a driver posted he has one arm amputated and still drives. Lots of drivers with artificial legs; I've met a couple of them.

Perhaps you could go to a doctor that does D.O.T. physicals and find out if you will be able to pass the physical, before going to a truck driving school and applying to any trucking companies.
Good luck to you! -
You think you can open and close trailer doors ,dolly trailers up and down, unhook and hook trk to trailer, slide tandems all with one arm?All that is not hard but it can take physical strength especially in the Winter.Alot of physicals done are more then just the basic eye and blood pressure check.

Pass the physical, then you'll know.

Just getting in and out of the truck using just your right arm will be a problem. (especially a cabover)

Sorry to hear about your accident. As others have stated the only sure way to know is go through the physical.
