Oh I don't think it is all that serious, or at least it isn't that urgent. I have some ticker and blood pressure problems, but the state is just being ridiculous.
Actually I've also got some other things going on, like needing a knee replacement that just isn't going to happen right now and stuff like that. Enough to kick me out of passing DOT. But the state seems to have a burr under their saddle here. . .
Of course I'm NOT the right religion, or I could make a phone call and get it all taken care of.
rookietrucker Thanks this. -
Did you pass?

That's a good idea. Then if the newbies have any questions they can discuss it.
I'm in the same boat Big Don. You ain't alone. -
Yeah, on my 99th try. The 100th was just to make sure it wasn't a fluke.
donkeyshow72 and Hammer166 Thank this. -
Hey just wanted to say thanks for making the practice tests available. just finished taking my last written one @ the Texas DMV. they made studying for the real tests much easier.
thanks again,
teq.Everett, bullhaulerswife, Admin and 1 other person Thank this. -
I just took the tests, I passed however I do not agree with some of the correct answers on the test. One that sticks out is "when going down a long steep grade you"
A ..................
B....................
C Downshift and apply steady light pressure to the brakes
D Brake on and off down the hill....
I selected D because my book says to use the method that you slow down 5mph under your safe speed then let off the brakes, and repeat. The practice test says that wrong and the correct answer is C. There were a few more I didn't agree with but I cannot remember them nowAdmin Thanks this. -
Thanks, I'm pretty sure that the Controlled Braking technique (answer C) is no longer advocated in state manuals. I'll have that removed.
indianaEMT Thanks this. -
Ok I was just messing around trying the tests.
On general knowledge, one of the questions went something like this.
you are at a shipper and they want you to take a placarded load, you do not have a hazmat endorsement. what should you do.
1 call your dispatcher and get permission
2 refuse the load
3 ? remove the placards
4 ????
I chose 2, no hazmat, no haul. A dispatcher can't give me permission. If its placarded its hazmat and you need the endorsement. Right????
test showed correct answer as "get permission from dispatch"
I don't currently have a hazmat endorsement so not quite sure, but I would think if placarded the endorsement is needed. The dispatcher is not going to get the ticket if pulled over, the driver is. -
Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention, Zab. The answer should be "refuse to take the load," I've corrected the error and it will be uploaded shortly.
Shoestring Thanks this. -
That was another one I didn't feel was right. Thanks
