The side tape does not need to be continous [only 50%] so you have a few options. neatly trim the cut areas out if the tape is continous -or- places like tractor supply, grangers, etc. sell strips of tape, one red and one white section together that could be used to patch the damaged sections. I've also seen it in the auto section of Walmart Can't help on the backing; in NJ the examiner rode along as the drove arpound the auto course [think signalling and full stops, etc] and then had them alley dock into one of the three sections where the 4 wheelers paralell park & K turn...one of 3 paved slots in the wide open and as wide as a two lane street, not exactly the most difficult of alley dock situations...
Thanks man for the info. Figured that they drill home to use a spotter when possible in backing and thought I would ask to see if he would spot me. Could be viewed as being a smart ### or using my resources. ? Thanks again guys for the help with this! Mog
I’m going to say you are over thinking the spotter. Spotters are useful when you can’t see what you are backing into, like a van between two other vans. No examiner in his right mind is going to have you back between two trailers! There’s not enough insurance in the world to cover that risk . He’s going to have you back into a “dock” delineated by cones. In a flatbed, you’ll be able to see everything you need to see before you hit it.
Hello again, I hope that I am just about done bugging you guys. I have completed the following: DOT Medical Card Texas CDL Handbook 3. Driving-test.org - General Knowledge testing -Combination Vehicles testing -Pre-Trip Inspection testing I know that it would be smarter for me to test on Air Brakes and maybe Hazardous Materials, but for this stage in life, I just see me using my lowboys or getting a 38' – 40’ enclosed trailer when I can afford it. My written test is coming up on Monday and didn’t know how it would go if I didn’t do the following sections on Driving-Test.org? What about these sections: -Air Brakes -Hazardous Materials -Straight Truck -Heavy Equipment I realize the more you know the better, but my brain is tired. Any suggestion’s are greatly appreciated. Mog

sorry for the double post and I failed to mention that my tow rig is a F-550 v10 gas and no air brakes.
