You don't really need the school job placement service. We can give you plenty of names of companies. Some schools may know some decent local outfits, but in general you can get pretty decent advice on this forum.
Some tanker outfits want graduates from specific schools, but other than that, just pick a cheap 160 hour program. -
Georgia piedmont for the east side
Chat tech for the north side
west ga tech for the west side
All of these are less than $200 out of your pocket if you don’t have a bachelors degreeChinatown Thanks this. -
Millis Transfer has a school. Not many companies thag you'd make more $ your 1st yr, and offer a GA regional that has you home every weekend

Here's a job that pays $ .7042 cents-per-mile. Haven't seen anything to compare with it.
UPS Freight Truckload is hiring individuals to work as Full-time OTR Drivers. This position involves the driving of a tractor-trailer for the over-the-road delivery of freight to two or more locations. OTR drivers may take a load from any of our shippers, and deliver North and South east, and as far west as Waterloo, IA. These drivers are typically on the road 7-10 days at a time and normally pull 53’ van trailers.
OTR Drivers must pass a DOT physical and successfully pass a UPS Freight road test. Qualified applicants must have a valid Class A Commercial Drivers’ License with Haz-Mat endorsement. OTR Drivers are expected to comply with all appearance standards.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. -
Some companies reimburse tuition back to you. Shop around; find a company you like, then call and ask if they hire students from a particular school. Most companies don't care what the school costs as long as it's 160 hrs. Some companies hire from certain schools only.
For the best home time combined with good pay, look at linehaul, tanker, foodservice jobs.
Old Dominion Freight Lines is linehaul and hires new cdl grads. Check to find out which schools they hire from. Linehaul is terminal to terminal/drop & hook.
