Hi all. I would not like to go to school. I studied for a few weeks, went to the DMV and took the general knowledge test, air brakes and got the ELDT certificate. Got my permit. Can I go to the DMV without school and take the exam and drive test to get my CDL?

    No. 2 things.
First, you have to have your own truck to take the test.
Second, even if you can find someone to loan you a truck and you take the test and pass it, it's unlikely that you will be able to find a job without formal training.
Gotta jump through the hoops, friend.

    RomTon and gentleroger Thank this.

Thanks friend. I think finding a job won't be a problem. I see the possibility of taking tests through a testing agency. Here in Texas, a driving school asks for almost 5,000 per person, and there are two of us.

CDL Prep and some youtube videos

This airbrakes video is what made it super easy for me to understand the air brake system
