    Contact all those posted so far and ask which can get you in school the earliest.
    With Christmas and New Years on the horizon, January will probably be the earliest you can get started.

    If you don't want OTR and still want a decent paycheck, then Labatt Foodservice is a good choice.

    Labatt Food Service is now hiring for a Student Driver at the Dallas location. Must be able to provide a valid Texas Class A Permit or Texas Class A CDL.

    Check the DMV locations in surrounding areas. The dmv site only shows a few closest to you. I’ve always been able to get a same week appointment at the one in Paris, Tx, just an hour or so northeast of DFW.

    Every company I’ve seen that trains requires the permit first.

    I just applied to raider express and I'm researching Steven transport, I might apply there as well and see who has the earliest school opening. Thanks Chinatown and everyone for chiming in... If all else fails I'll just wait for kllm in mid January. Or try to get my permit on my own and go to the better companies that require permit in hand

    @sckmaster93 --

    THE BAD NEWS: Trying to start CDL school/training/employment during November & December usually blows--big time!!! :confused: :(

    THE GOOD NEWS: Texas is a GREAT state for trucking! LOTS of good opportunities in your area. Basically--you almost can't lose. :D
