ive been here in riverside,ca for 2 weeks now. Test out next week. Up to this point I have had a lot of fun. I see this as an adventure. It’s been awesome. I’ve picked the brains of all the seasoned drivers for all the info I can get and to hear their experiences . I’m having a blast. Got discouraged a few times but stuck it out and got through it. This has been an awesome experience.

An awesome experience with Crusty? Are you serious? Keep your Prozac stockpiled, because you're gonna need it. But I'll tell you something no else will, and that is if you back into something, hide it if you can. Don't tell on yourself for some minor ding or scrape. This will only get you fired. You don't deserve to be fired over some minor crap. But if it's big like tearing off a bumper or fender, then you gotta take responsibility.
Be patient when backing. Take your time. You WILL need to G.O.A.L. Backing is an extremely important skill you need to master if you're going to be a trucker. But you won't learn backing overnight, in a week, or even two months. And don't expect your trainer to be some backing master, because he probably won't be.
And don't be the ####### who practices backing with other trucks in close proximity or at a busy truck stop. Give yourself some room. These big rigs are no joke and can do a lot of damage quickly. Give them the respect they deserve. Check out Mark from Trucking Answers on YouTube. I love this guy.
