No problem at all.
A few companies won't hire CA drivers unless they move out of state, but 99% will.
If you move to another state you'll have to transfer your cdl to the new state. That's easy also; just show your new address in most cases and in South Dakota you just need a PO box number.Last edited: Oct 21, 2019

California and Illinois make it difficult as if you've never had a cdl before.Jjay Thanks this. -
The cdl is a federally mandated license system for driving commercial vehicles. The license is issued by every state but it is accepted in every state because of the mandate. So yes you can apply in other states. The carrier in those states can't force you to get their state license because of the mandate,
The transfer isn't hard, the states have their own rules how it is done but the truth of the matter is we need a uniform way it happens in every state including having transfer of hazmat and other endorsements go along with it.Jjay Thanks this. -
The state is saying I would have to transfer my CDL in 10 days of moving there.which is stupid I should be able to keep it in MA cause I will be coming back in spring
