How do you get a CDL license in a state you can't prove you reside in ?? I had to show proof of residency to obtain mine, here in NC.
Never been to a school, self taught.

you should at least have a cell phone bill mailed to you. or do you not have a cell phone.

10 years ago that was a big problem that no state even considers.

i remember living with room mates. before the cell phone. so i didn't have any utilities in my name either. nothing to prove residency.

Do NOT go to the "next class" ! That cdl school deploma has a shelf life of only a couple of months.Get it now and then try finding a job 11 months from now, NOT GOOD!
Wait till your back in Tx THEN go to school, if you do go here in NY you will have to transfer your Tx license to NY get your NY cdl permit go to school take and pass the test wait for them to send you your NY cdl then when you ETS you'll have to transfer it back to Tx.

Texas has made it easy,if you stay in a motel or hotel for 30+ days it is considered your residence.

Well, I have been looking around in Texas at schools. Im a little worried now. I have a red/green color deficiency and I was reading over the Texas requirements located at http://www.ehow.com/list_6183754_requirements-cdl-texas.html. They say no color blindness. I know some states make you look at a street light or something like that and pass you, but is Texas differant?

Yes the eye test chart has a green and red line you have to identify. Check your state about whats required to prove residency. For instance TN states cell phone bills are not accepted.
