was wondering if anybody knows if driving a CDLA size dump truck will be good experiance when applying for trucking jobs.

Some OTR companies don't even count daycab CDL-A as experience.

I am a recent grad and been offered a job driving dump truck. not my long term plan but running low on funds now. Have no experience since driving from 1982 to 84 with dry van carrier.

When I got out of end dumping I called around to a few companies and even with 17 years experience and no accidents, some said their insurance wouldn’t cover me as I didn’t have 48’ or longer trailer experience within the last 2 years. My frameless was 40’.
