I don't understand the reasoning of gowing with a carrier that only pays .34 cpm, and wants you to stay out a minimum of 14 days, versus going with a carrier like Cowan Systems, that pays .46 cpm per mile out of its Indianapolis and Columbus terminals, and gets you home weekly.

Your job must be really good if it's worth bragging about on a forum. Are they hiring?

No they are not. And how do you see "bragging" in there?
Just because I have put in my time and don't HAVE to rely on 'megas' to force me to accept a "lifestyle", that is bragging?

    Lowtide and 77smartin Thank this.

As far as I'm concerned, any job that you enjoy and pays well enough to meet your needs is worth bragging about.

Well, I think it's the drastic life CHANGE that makes it what some may refer to as a lifestyle, because even with a decent wage, as long as you're out you're never really off the job even while on a reset because you still always have to babysit the truck.

I stopped "enjoying" this job in 1999 or 2000 when everything seemed to go to hell (right around the time cell phones started making a regular appearance ironically).
It boils down to the area I (and me and my wife's families) live, and the caliber of jobs offered and pay that goes with those jobs, that has kept me in this (ever growing) miserable, thankless, crap JOB.

I have tried a few times to get out.....but there is just nothing that has worked out well for me, because I need a little more in my life thsn just "check to check".

I currently have it as good now as it's ever gonna get for me in this industry...but it took nearly a quarter century to have it MY way.
