Thats because trucking has become an occupation of last resort. I had trainees with nothing except one suitcase to their names, Asking about an advance before they even get in the drivers seat.

I did expect a lots of trucks sitting at scale houses placed OOS at that time.
IMO, once operation is seized, the company doesn't exist anymore and the vehicles are not insured anymore. The insured name on the registration doesn't exist.

    What's your opinion on that?

Once insurance is cancelled typically you remain under coverage up to 3 weeks from date of cancellation

Says who? there is a date on your notice that tells when the coverage is cancelled.

If you get cancelled it has to be in writing with an effective date. if you don't pay there is a drop dead date and that can be at 1201 am the day after, there is no rule, law or anything else, A grace period is to allow you to reinstate your policy, you have zero coverage after your drop dead date, read your policy.

I have. Been w same agency over 40 years.
That's why I know I have a grace policy after cancelation.
And you knew Celadons policy coverage how?

Really? you have a date that absolutely positively stops your coverage, believe what you want, I'm finish talking about it.

Do you think that after filing w thousands of units on the highway they would operate without coverage after filing for bankruptcy, which happend over a weekend?

You were the only one mentioning a "drop dead date".
Of course you would have no coverage after coverage ended but that's not what was being referred to by me.

I'm sure coverage was still in effect after the official filing date of the Celadon Group to allow movement.
    Would I bet on it?..probably.
    Do I know for a fact?..no.
