Excuse me; I’ve been with Celadon for many years. Months ago lots of guys were telling me to pack it in: I didn’t and I’ve continued running good loads for them during this awful time. I have hopes that they can figure this out and have personal responsibility to myself to make sure if something happens I will be okay..
Don’t be so judgmental. We are here to try to be a positive for our industry.

But you’re just kidding yourself. Why work for a mega company that doesn’t even know your name. They’ve been in trouble a long time.

Lol! They know my name! Not everyone is unhappy at a “mega”. I need insurances that 1099’s don’t have and many larger “small” companies don’t offer! I have short AND long term disability, life, accident, critical illness.. stuff many companies don’t touch! I’m not questioning where you work.. why do many of you think you can question my choice again and again...
I make good money; I do my job well, I am respected by those who I encounter at my company.. That’s all I need to hang in there until there’s nothing to hang in there for..

Oh yeah, Celadon hasn’t been in trouble for a longtime... we are now; but trying to work thru bad decisions from previous management.. This all came to light early this year. Some reorganization’s take years to accomplish.. that’s just business

Can you just gas up and shower, then head on the down the road and find a hidey hole if there are no spots?

I don’t hardly ever stay at a truckstop.. I stop and fuel in the middle of the day; grab an easy parking spot, have a quick shower and walk my dog.. then, finish the last half of my day, hopefully to park at a rest area, weigh station, or Walmart..for the night...

You couldn’t pay me enough money in the world to sleep at a weigh station. Just begging for problems.

I just had a call from a Celadon recruiter yesterday. The only reason I took the call is because Celadon hauled freight for my previous employer. I figured if they were good enough for a Fortune 150, they might be good enough for me.

Interesting new policy; once you hit 30K miles you get an automatic 7 days off, with a nice little bonus. She told me you'd be out 10-14 days. In the end, a starting pay of .36 cpm for a rookie driver just isn't going to cut it for me.
