When wasn't it a right to have electronics? There are a lot of things not specifically listed, so you don't own anything not listed in the constitution???

Wow you are a piece of work. I am so done, you all just want to argue. I am just stating facts and helping out others. Bye bye!

Wrong again. Gun laws are regulated by state. If you have a concealed weapon permit you can carry it. It is not prohibited by the federal government to carry a gun in the truck either. If you have a permit for that state you can. It can be prohibited by your company in their truck. Look that up!!!

Ah to be young and foolish again.

Never said you couldn't carry. In fact I do. Said you couldn't use it randomly, and if you did it better be justified.I know you have suggested I attend a truck driving school to learn to drive and use a phone at the same time, might I suggest some time in elementary school for some reading comprehension?

No one has said you can not have a phone in the truck. Simply you should not be using it while driving the truck.

In fact you have made mention of your service several times. Yes I have served. No I don't wish to talk about it nor use it as an irrelevant leg of my position.

I would like to circle back to your thoughts of attending school to learn to drive and operate a phone at the same time. If that is what they teach in those places no wonder the wash out, and accident rate is exceedingly high for new drivers. That is what they teach you people in those places? Funny I would have thought they teach you basic driving skills for a CMV. Phone use you say? Tell me do they teach the boofay shuffle, proper echo tuning on your cb?

I served, 5 years, 9 months, 14 days active duty. But, what the heck does that have to do with knowing the difference between Rights and priviledges? It was my Right to learn in school that it was my priviledge to serve in the Army Transportation Corp.

Ever tried owning a full automatic, like a Thompson or M16A1? I do believe the Feds have a say about that.

I have and no different than a TWIC card, but cost 200.00 per weapon or 5.00 for a AOW.

Mental focus. Most people tend to visualize the person they are talking to, and loose track of their task at hand which is driving. Though I would agree some I have heard will say stuff like" Crap got to bs'ing and passed my exit",

Can there be times phone conversations can be carried on safely? Sure there are. However as usual a fair number of drivers are incapable of focusing on their job, or activity so we shall make certain actions illegal so they may be removed when they practice them.

So far all the studies have shown the conversation on a phone have less impact on attention than talking with someone sitting in seat next to you. The distraction is in the dialing portion. What is interesting and being studied now is how some people had increased alertness while talking on phone and others lost focus (hands free). Many thoughts on why but they are all over the place and two similar studies being conducted will take at least 3-4 years to be completed.
