Just wow! This one is over the top. I would never have accepted that and feel sorry for the drivers who are being manipulated into thinking this normal.

Go get piezo lighter. Take it apart. There inside is piezo igniter. Put igniter wire to this company device and start click - click. device will go caput, the company will install you new one. Do the same. No one can find out why device is dead.

If you can't afford your own phone bill.

You might want to rethink everything involved with your phone.

An uninstall might not delete every trace of the phone.

Back up your text messages and do a factory reset of the phone software. That'll reset it to when you bought it and start over again. Without the app.

And pay your own phone bill

Not on my phone... if required, I’d be looking for other companies to drive for... I get those “App Requests” from Brokers wanting me to install their app on my iPhone... nope, I have no problem calling you to update status... and if you need to know where I am, either call and ask me or call my company and they know where my truck is 24/7.

And then Verizon texts me asking if it’s ok to share my location with ABC, Inc for 30 days... lol... NO!!!

I can’t see how taking/making a phone call, with a hands free solution of course, is that big of a safety deal.

I wonder if it’s just “phone calls”.... maybe look into other audio/video solutions for communication like FaceTime if you are Apple Oriented.

And I agree with those above.... I wouldn’t take their money for my phone use... if it means they control my phone then they can just give me a company phone or pay 100% of my second “business only” line...

Seriously, start looking for another employer.

    Nope, not illegal.

It’s all app activated. ATT offers an app you can install. Usually as a parental control thing though.

From the OP’s description. The one the company installed is linked to the truck. Any detection of movement will block his phone access to the network.

It’s not difficult to defeat. Simply take a #### PayGo phone to orientation. Or buy one after the install, and have all your calls forwarded.

Considering how cheap plans are these days and the fact minutes are unlimited now.

I don't know why any company would even offer to help out with the bill.

Because it’s a nice thing to do, business related, and cheaper to reimburse a business expense than pay the employee more.

Plus, if the do then they can require this BS.

WELLi went to verision today to see what information they could share with me on this matter, to my surprise they checked out the app and thru this app the company has total access to everything on my phone they can see all my text and all my call's so we got rid of the app now dealing with my company will be an. interesting venture so I will keep you posted on how this turns out. I am prepared to get legal representation if goes that far. I am reaching retirement so I have to use a little common sense but at the same time not be run over like a opposumm in the road on a wet foggy night.

I appreciate your interest and your response to the question I ask, but not at any point did I mention anything about the fact that I could not afford to pay my phone bill. When I see a response such as this it leads me to believe that you can,t me the payments on your own debts and you think everyone else is living your life.
