On the account I work for, at my location, we have no supervisor, no HR, and no manager of any kind. We call our main account location 300 miles away and they give us our load assignments, etc. We are issued work phones that have a variety of apps (logs, dispatch info) on them. Through those apps, we receive company policy updates, etc. The driver doesn't have to read any of those messages. We are all adults, no one will hold our hand and make us do anything. However, when we violate a policy or procedure, we are held accountable and subject to disciplinary action for failure to comply.

That's a good way to receive company policy updates. -
my friend is the IT guy for a govt agency and he’d walk around and see half the employees on Facebook Amazon eBay etc
one day he blocked Facebook on the main server and waited to see how long before someone complained .
You’d have thought he had turned off their access to air to breathe .
the employees went bonkers . -
Somehow. I don't think companies want to pay your $10g fine.
Or worse. You killed someone.
Like that trucker who killed the cop in Arizona.
Dash cam footage of his cell phone flying out of his hands made the rounds all over the internet. -
