I have to change to a cellular equipped tablet for e-logs. What "good value" cell service are you folks using? Of course, it goes without saying, I need really good coverage too.

My tablet is an unlocked android. So, a bring your own device plan is preferred.

    TIA

I don't know if this helps or not, but.
I've always had Verizon as my cell service provider. When we had to go to elog, I added a second line to my service and linked that new number to an air card. Basically a cellular modem, and used that for the laptop and, later, the tablet that I used for the elog. And when I had to provide a cell number to the broker for tracking their load, the aircard number is what they got. The aircard never left the truck, the cell phone did. I don't mind them tracking their load, but they have no business tracking ME.

I've been using visible from Verizon. Coverage seems to be the same and my bill went from 120 a month to 33 dollars a month after prepaying a year in advance.

I'm so glad you shared that.

With t-mobile, I'm paying about $100 a month. I don't have any slowdowns or interruptions or any of that, but I do have a limit on the Hotspot data.

I just looked into it and Verizon will not slow your voice or data. What will be slowed if anything, would be like streaming movies or things like that that require a lot of data at peak times, or in areas that they don't have a lot of towers.

But Verizon has such great coverage, you should pretty much always have voice and text, probably better than the other carriers.

For the price, I could probably get that AND home Wi-Fi for what I have been paying.

That's a very cool thing this site has such a great exchange of information.

I use Verizon Prepaid for my cell phone and had never heard of Visible. I'll have to really give it a look. Maybe switch my cell too. Thanks for sharing.

I use their prepaid. No "cheap" way to add a second line. It would be another $50+ per month just for the tablet that won't get used for much of anything besides logs.
If they want to know where their load is, they can call me during regular business hours. Or, they can call the company I'm leased to. I won't install tracking apps. And I don't answer the phone at all hours. Piss on em.

Try Mint. Cheaper than Visible and much better customer service.
