I do understand that Swift owns Central but They offer two totally different training programs and Central being a sister company to Swift they are still running as two stand alone companies. With that being said any input would be useful thanks.

Swift sounds like a great company , I looked into them as well . I just don't want to be away that long
There training pay , and school is from what I read is really top notch -
My deal is I have to get my CDL permit before going to Swift and since I live in the wonderful state of Kentucky I have to jump through so many hoops it is crazy. I can go to Central and get the whole deal in Utah and transfer when I get back to KY. I feel like I would like swift better but honestly have no clue. I wasn't to interested in any other driver trained start up companies so I've narrowed it down to these two options. TangerineGT if you are going to start out in any of these type companies the home time is the virtually the same in a nutshell trust me I've talked to them all. LOL!

Swift school is PTDI certified.......

When I first started doing research in December of last year I ended up applying to both Swift and Central. I ended up choosing Central (due to the highly detailed account in this thread--http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/trucking-schools/147463-follow-me-through-central-refrigerated-training.html).
Central starts company drivers at $.28 per mile, while Swift is $.25 per mile. If I had to decide again which company to choose, I would still go with Central. I trained at the SLC facility, but we offer training at several other places as well.
