Central Ref hijacked

welcome to the ummmmmm Swift family In a way they have always been sort of family ( Jerrys both your Daddy type deal ) just now your all a little closer , like looking for a date at the family reunion in a Jeff Foxworthy comedy.

Well ok , just as long asin if Ma and Pa get a divorce they still be Bother and Sister.

Hope it all works out for everyone , a lot of good people work for both companies ( drivers I met over the years )

 

As big as Swift is they still have way to smaller market share for them to be of any interest to the government with regard to a monopoly.
The truth is they only have about a 1/2 % of the registered trucks in the US.That is only one out of every 200.

More than likely, all of the trucks that say Central Refrigerated on them will eventually be changed over to Swift. Also, more than likely, the paperwork will be changed to say Swift on it, including payroll.

As for the individual truck drivers, it really should not matter as long as all the paperwork and records are legal, the trucks are well maintained, and the drivers are getting paid for the work they do.

There should be PLENTY of job security for all of the truck drivers working for both Swift and Central Refrigerated

Did something new happen?

Do all you guys know that Jerry Moyes bailed Dick Simon out at least 15 years ago, then bought him out completely a few years later. Dick Simon Trucking was re-branded as Central Refrigerated and Moyes/Swift has owned Central from day 1.

 

The govt won't be happy until there's exactly one trucking company left, theirs, probably called welfare transportation.

 

Yes and Jerry has taken SWIFT private on 2 occassions only to tu n around and go public ( sell shares ) to raise $ to pay the debts , CENTRAL is sitting on a big $ debt right now
Although SWIFT paid $189 million in cash,the deal is valued at $225 million, including assumed capital lease obligations and other financial debt.
