Just woundering does centrals trainers sleep while the rooks drive? I heard of some companys that do that, a crok i think can't learn nothing with the trainer sleeping. I trained before but there is no way i would get in that sleeper going down the road with a student driving........... But i was just woundering how they do it and how do the trainers get paid? Do they get paid for every mile the trucks run? And how often do the trainers have students?

No doubt some trainers do sleep while the Trainee is driving
. If you trained with a L/O they are paid for every mile the truck runs. Most Students are out with a trainer for 28 days and they head back to a Terminal to drop there student of and pick up a new one.
I'm not sure if many Company drivers train students but if they do they would get paid the milage the truck ran in the time.
JJ's old trainer was great he had JJ drive of a night and day and sat in the Jump seat for the first week and then they ran as a team operation (JJ already had his CDL just had a 5 year break) so he knew what he was doing......they still talk almost daily
.
