I work for central and it was good till we asked for home time they send us in the opposite direction and we been stuck for 7 days now I mean stuck not moving. Now school wasn't that bad the trainer was a good old man a little bit grumpy only 2 problems with im he didn't shower to much and when I was backing he will start yelling and flapping is arms like a chiken other than that it was a good experience. Now for the upgrade I really nervous but the guy told us to relax we could float gears etc just don't do anything unsafe well the first guy got stuck in neutral for like 300feet and didn't fail the test was really easy 4lefts and rights change lanes and back only one dint pass struck a corner and was sent home because upgrade is one time only. Now after one week stuck not making any money here I want to quit and look for something else

driving semi is perfect for me. i love traveling. i love operating a huge truck. makes me feel important. i have had a career in lawenforcment before trucking and to me it was just a job. but driving otr was great. as to what happend to me with greyhound was, i was weilded a commuter run. which means i bidded for a good run but because of being the bottom guy in senority i had to do the crappiest run on the board for 6 months. wake up at 4am drive to philly pick up bus drive to cherryhill NJ pick up commuters drive to NY port authority 2hours. wait there for 9 hours unpaid drive the commuters back 2hours. and only paid 17hr for driving 4 hours. and 1/2 hour to the garage at 8 bucks an hour

Just not for the truck, and the stuff around you?
Maybe you should be a professional tourist.
I love driving fast, unfortunately that does not automatically make me a race car driver.
If your importance is determined by the size of your truck, you are compensating for _____________ (I will let you fill in that blank as you see fit). Seriously, I think this just goes to show part of the attitude that may be leading to some of your problems.
Wait, I thought you were bragging about Greyhound? Now you are saying that you were displeased with the seniority system, that was in place when you signed on? I'm curious if you have ever had a job where you, and your employer were both happy?

I know this may seem picky, but why is this thread titled, Central Refridgerated failed upgrade roadtest? I question this because Central Refrigerated did not fail that test. YOU failed the upgrade road test at Central. Stand up and be accountable for yourself.

Centralrookie, that's called over the road driving. It's not going to be any different anywhere else. Maybe worse. It sounds as if neither you or shawn are prepared to be real over the road truck drivers. I think your school recruiters painted quite a picture. Over the road driving is just that. Over the road driving. Rookie mistake number one, ask for home time and complain about it and you are going to sit and be ignored. So now you are sitting and being ignored. If they do give you a second chance you take the loads they give you, say thank you and get your butt in gear!!! If you aren't willing to hustle they are just going to sit you out until you quit, then they will replace you. I'm not bashing you and this may not be your fault. Perhaps you had a crappy trainer that did not explain this to you. Now I have explained it to you and those are the cold hard facts of trucking.
