What kind of truck are you driving to get 7-8 mpg? I am looking to up my fuel to anything better than 6's I currently have my W900 and getting 6's I was looking at investing in the K&N air filters for an upgrade to help with the mpg. But if I can increase jst by buying Petro or TA fuel I will try that also. As I am a lease operator with a short 9 month lease and have the ability to purchase fuel where ever I #### well please. God I love that ability, lol

Im getting an average of 8.6 in our Prostar. It goes down to about 7 when driving from East coast to the uphill climb towards the center.

central should put 20k cement blocks in the training trls so students can feel the truck under a load.

i have a pete 387. all "classic" trucks arent areodynamic at all so you are losing quite a bit. I will swear that fuel brand DOES have something to do with MPGs.

here are a few things i do.

    1. Buy TA/petro fuel
    2. since you are getting mid 6s maybe? i assume you are driving 65mph. Drop your speed to 60 when you have plenty of time on your load. Then when you are approaching your 70 hr, hammer down to fit in a 34 while under a load. Delivering then taking a 34 is a waste of time....lol
    3. tire pressure. Check at least once a week.
    4. dont use cruise control unless you are in really flat lands. (SD, NE, KS, TX, LA, FL) Cruise control is stupid and dumps fuel into the engine like you are mashing the throttle to the floor just to keep speed. Lower gear up a hill and down shift until you find your sweet spot. (enough to keep speed and accelerate while going up.)
    5. slide your 5th whl so that the gap between tractor and trl is tighter. The way i see the 5th whl is mounted on most of our trucks (slightly forward) the sweet spot seems to be there the nose of your trl is just behind the fender on your drive axle. A full load puts me at 12300 on the steers with a full tank of fuel. DOT seems to let you go if you are less than 5% over on your steers.

Looks like someone has been listening to the trucking channel on the road dog channel at night.
Money you save is money earned. If you can get better than the 6 mpg that the surcharge is set at you are making more money.
The more you save the more you will earn. If you cannot do 60 at first then go down to 62. This should gain you around 3/10ths or more.
Any speed over 55 the wind resistance of the truck plays a huge factor in fuel economy.

I have... nothing else on that late at night when i am usually driving. Starting to hate daytime driving because of all the 4 wheelers...lol the stuff they say really works. im thinking about a turbo 3000d. i hear more good about it than bad. If that gives me another 2-3/10 then i am pretty much where i want to be.
