This is jess typing as chris, and to be quite honest I typed the other one, but that darn fruit (blackberry) won't cooperate to let me sign on. I fb a lot and my family laughs at some of it. I meant we will fly past the company trucks, and when I drive in some areas I pass o/o who ccan't believe we haven't turned it up, and yell at me for passing them. So, when is that bbq, ?
I will be going though tx tonite. In e paso, comin on, and heading east. Keep safe. -
I forgot to mention, we have been with our trainer since Friday, we were in SLC, he's from Fontana (he came and picked us up) he is AWESOME, we couldn't have asked for a better trainer!
On another note, we are going over Donners Pass tomorrow afternoon! This ought to be interesting!
Ladyk, hope everythings going well for you!
Be safe! I've seen some crazy stuff by truckers this week! -
I don't think there is snow on it, is there?

Hey Poolplyntrucker, here are some Donner's Pass web cams.

Great info Chrome, and yes no matter how experienced everyone has a day where they look like its their first! Like Chrome said, it really has a lot to do with how you set up. Take it nice and slow that way you have time to correct. Also don't snake your steers. What I mean by that is over correcting then counter over correcting and continuing. Remember it takes a few seconds from what you do in the front to happen in the back. Try to pretend you are actually steering with your tandems. Just keep an eye on that back tandem tire and walk it in very slowly. Also like Chrome said, instead of trying to recover or correcting sometimes it is way easier just to pull forward and then continue. Hope this helps! -
Yeah everyone has days when you just can't back even into easy holes.
REMEMBER GOAL!!!!!! Get out and look, I told my students if you are backing next to me at a truckstop I would rather be woken up by a knock on the door for help than by the truck shaking where you just hit it
Get out and look, get help, take your time, and TURN THE #### CB OFF when backing, you will hear some super trucker giving you crap about how you are holding people up, or Central (Werner) can't back up or betting you hit something
Funny thing is, the job I have now I sometimes have to back up to 9 times a day, very tight docks at a lot of the stores, many of them set up to be blindside backs, obsticles, if you want to get REALLY REALLY good at backing this is the job, LOL. But give me a dock with a lot of space and a clear shot and I will display my lack of backing skills, LOL -
no snow, you should do fine on donner pass.
-
LOL some supertrucker did that to me at the petro in Portage, WI. then the driver next to me got on the radio and said "driver, you dont want to do that, that boy looks like he moved a few pianos in the day!" Then the supertrucker shut his mouth.
