I love that ride, on either side of the river. One of the prettiest parts of the country.

I heard that if you pitch a fit you can get your original DM back - the new DM is to 'babysit' you as a new L/O and 'help' you run your business... or so I've heard...

You will get $100 the wednesday after you get on your trainers truck. The week after you start getting the training pay. $67.50 every day are on his truck. You will always get paid the week after you earned it providing you get your bills in my midnight Thursday

Catfish fleet, but first you have to do 48 state for 6 months before you can get on any fleet. Catfish you will basically run I-40 and south all year. Load in Isola, and Indianola, MS and as a solo driver, you will run mostly to texas, west, and North and South Carolina East, and only about as far north as Indianapolis, IN. Most loads are one or only two stops at most, but sometimes there are 3 and 4 stop loads for solo's but those were few and far between for a solo driver on the fish fleet. Everyone complains about fish loads, but I honestly loved it.
Check into it.Dennis the Menace Thanks this. -
I liked catfish loads till today. They held me for an extra hour and made my first 2 stops in Atlanta late. My last delivery is in Alabama tomorrow. There were about 9 CRS trucks there yesterday, I thought I was at a terminal. One of the loads was for a trainer and his student and he had 12 deliveries in Chicago.Dennis the Menace Thanks this.

I feel your pain. I also leased and have had 2 breakdowns and hometime which threw me into negative paychecks. That was in my first 3 weeks. I told them I wouldn't sign a lease unless I could keep my DM and am happy with my miles as long as the truck is running. If they don't get your miles up, call the terminal manager or your old DM and request a change back.Lady K Thanks this.

The lease has actually worked out well for quite a few drivers. You have to watch your fuel carefully and only buy enough fuel for each load that you are running. If you buy too much you eat all of the profit for the load. Fuel is the highest cost for lease drivers. I recently leased also and when the truck isn't broken I do quite well, between 20-30% more money per week than I was doing as a company driver. Home time is problematic. You have to keep out enough money from each paycheck to finance the time off because when you aren't running, the lease payment still comes out of your check. You can make it up quickly, but the best time to take off is the end of one pay period and beginning of another so you have enough miles in each check to make the payment. Watch your fuel!!
