Normally they dead head back to Atlanta or Alabama!! Fine if your a company driver because your Fuel is paid and you get paid for mileage.

L/O get paid the mileage but no Fuel surcharge for the empty miles.

yea deadhead has been a bit crazy for me lately almost 450 last week for one load but i guess its better than sitting for days on end waiting for a load is any one averaging more than 2200 miles weekly solo

The dead head sucks!! But could be worse JJ's old trainer dead headed from back east somewhere to Isola for a catfish load the other day so his dead head for that week was in the 30% range :biggrin_25511: I would have been furious.

I wish the economy would pick up some!

its getting harder and harder to make that dollar stretch these days.

Well I just took my road test. It took some getting used to, but it came back. I didnt miss any gears, or scuff any paint. WOW Im glad thats over. Faxed my app to Russ. I guess we'll see what he says. Thanks for letting me hang out in in the mean time.

1bad.....are things going better for you. I know how it feels to just want to quit.....I have no patience to just wait...wait...wait. I hope that changes for us both. Good luck,

EDIT -----Just got and email from Russ at Central, said he received my fax and wants a start date. I cant see that he had any time to check my DOT or anything else. Maybe he was just wanting an idea of when I wanted to start. Went from having no job to having 2. I want to try and put off Central til at least the end of May due to the local gig, but are they flexible with this sort of thing or do they tell me when to be there and thats the end of it??/

I got my start date pushed back a week by just sending an e-mail. No problem. I'll be starting on the 27th.
