2HRS is standard after the 2hrs detention starts $15.00 hr for company $30.00 HR for Lease Ops.
Average run milage wise between 700-1400 thats as a Lease op, also depends on what part of the country your in get down south and its short hops.
Miles this week are right around 3200
Equipment is OK, They are getting rid of the Volvo's and getting the Pro-stars.
Pay isn't great 29cpm, (Per diem is mandatory 8cpm)
I see you have been driving for 4yrs???? Central are not currently hiring experienced drivers at the moment or students from any other schools. -
Yep, still waiting on my appt. time...
But I lost my reset.
With about 8 hours until my 34 was up I get a message that I can go over & unload early, so I ask where this info came from & was told it was from the planer. Now I should have known to check into this more, but I just headed over to get rid of this stuff. I walk into the office & they say "Sorry bud, but can't take you until tonight at the appt.time." So I unhappily walk back to the truck & start making some calls, turns out that the planer talked to the receiver & just thought that things were going as they always do there. Well I guess they are going though some equipment changes & don't have a full staff working, so they only have one guy to unload trucks... Needless to say he can't keep up. So now I'm heading back over there in a littlw while to check in & wait for my appt. because I can't stay here until then becasue I started my 14 already.
I will answer the best I can, but if you already got some years of driving under your belt I'm sorry to say they will not bring you on. They are only hiring from the company school.
1) Wait times are about 2 hours on avrage, but you can never really know how long it will take.
2) Pay starts at 2 hours after the appt. time I believe.
3) Milage on loads is way to hard to answer, they are all over the place.
4) Milage perweek is 2200 - 3100 if you have a good DM & you stay out of the northeast. I just got a message this morning that I have done just under 1100 in the last month. (got stuck in NY for a day)
5) Equipment is pretty good, the Volvo's are preety much hit & miss. Some are real good & others are totall lemons, mine started out that way & now runs like a champ.
6) Pay isn't as good as some others, but its also not as bad as a lot other big companise out there. -
Sheesh I waited and waited on someone else to answer that and we must have posted about the same time lol

Well 1bad is headed back to the house for his 10 hr break. They have routed him from SC to KS via atlanta so he is gonna pop in for a hot shower and sleep. Helpful they routed him our way in all the confusion yesterday morning he left all his bath stuff here at the house along with his contacts. So he was glad to get routed through here. I told him 1st stop is the bathroom to get cleaned up. He didn't even have a comb with him although I buzzed his hair when he was home over the weekend. Sounds like they are really trying to work him back to WVC to pick up his truck. Hopefully the miles will get better when he gets his new F/M.
Jess, Thanks for the pm I will send that to you this weekend. I also had to go pick up some milk today and grabbed you a box of Lusianna tea so you can make JJ some real sweet tea when he comes home. I saw it on a sale display as soon as I walked in and had a coupon so I figured I'd send ya'll some of the real stuff from the south.

Awwwwww Thanks Sadie!! Can ya PM me the recipe to PLEASSSSSSSE.
One Smelly 1bad no soap or deodorant?????? -
Yep I will send that to ya.
Well good thing is he shouldn't be that smelly he only left yesterday morning and took a shower before he left. But no toothbrush now that's a whole other story...........LOLOLOLOLOL. -
Backing different length tlrs. You just talking about the big rig tlrs or any size? Know JJ said there isn't much difference but I disagree. The shorter the tlr, the easier it is to get away from you. Just remember when backing, that smaller movements are always better to do.
Brinkman, sorry bout the reset and sorry that I missed you. Was only about 30 miles away in Holcomb. Thats the nice thing about still using paper logs. Wouldn't have lost the reset that way. Don't know what I'll do if I ever have to go paperless. Would probably have 5 to 6 hrs each week (or more) that I would have to log.
I don't know about the rest of ya'll but I come here because this is a fairly positive thread and this has become like an extended family for me. I am definitly NOT the most social critter around BUT still like to have a little human interaction. I can have the best of both words this way. Thats just me of course. Have to admit that I get quite the kick out of Jess and her mother henness (like that word?) most of the time.
Have gone from 1 side of Ks to the udder today. This is a new one for me. Not only do I drop here but I am also picking up a load here. Heading to Al in the am.
Now I'm really jealous!!! Ya'll actually get dentition pay after setting? Wish my company did that!!!
I'm a company driver with my company and I've been averaging about 3000 a week for the last month or so.
DM's vs planners. Yes planners are the ones who set up the loads and then send them out but a good DM will stay on top of whats going on and will actually go to bat for you if needed. A good DM is essential in this business because they are your main line of communication with the company. They are the ones who are supposed to be looking out for you and giving you the help you need.
Optimism and being a driver? I love what I'm doing and like being out here. Spent 24 years at my last job and for the last 5 of them I really hated it, almost to the point of suicide so as you can see, my life is so much better now even with all the uncertainty out there. I believe that we've pretty much bottomed out and things have no where to go but up. When the economy finally recovers and all the drivers who really aren't get out, those of us still here will get all the miles, money, and hopefully, the respect we deserve!!!
#### but I was long winded tonight, wasn't I? Think I answered everything I wished to. Wishing ya'll smooth roads ahead.jess-juju Thanks this. -
Guess I do try mother ya'll.
All my family is in Australia so guess a lot of you have become my extended family.
Need a guinea pig to practice my Sweet Tea on any volunteers???
