I'm just checking in, now everyone in my family knows I am looking at trucking (I currently work for my dad, my aunt, and my grandpa) and obviously they all say I should stay but would respect my decision if I decided to go. Now I feel much more confident in making a final, conclusive decision before it gets too late.

Ahhhhh, really going to have to install an oven now Jess. You've got a new internet business getting ready to take off. Aussie cookies for sale. Bet you could make a killing on them in the truck stops too. JJ's next truck is going to have to be one of them rolling condos, I do believe. hehehehehehe

    I like to cook!!

Sounds like I better bring in the toaster oven and see if they will cook in there LOL!

This week I'm on the Peanut Brittle and chewy Caramel Fudge Kick, I will keep making it until I get it right:biggrin_2552:

    Good Luck Mama and Lex!!
You both are prepared and have a great attitude. And you have each other for support and a ready made study partner! If you can, push for the motel, seems like it would be soooo much more appropriate for a couple. (The bunkhouse kinda smells too.) Ramada has a nice little restaurant, exercise room, outdoor pool, computer room and wi-fi if your lucky enough to get a room close enough to the front of the bldg. Otherwise the signal from the Hampton Inn accross the street comes in better, but you need their key to access it. My son travels alot for his company, and he told me that Hampton has a free continental breakfast for their guests. He usually finds a way to pay them a quick visit even if he's staying somewhere else. But, you didn't hear that from me.... ;)
I think Central, or any company, would do well to hire folks like you and Lex.

mama mia and lextec Thank this.

I'm my taster:biggrin_25513: Can't make someone else eat it if it tastes Terrible!!

Don't worry Mama Mia, I don't let anyone else eat my food unless I do the taste test first.

Hey guys, I am looking at Central really hard as a wannabe and have a question. I had a DWI back in 1985 in Oklahoma. The trick is that I was in the Military carrying a Texas DL. OKC would not recognize it and issued me a temp number, therefore the DWI has never shown up on my Texas DL. Should I be concerned?

Many thanks for all the support. We really are hoping to be successful at this and if Central only know how good of "company people" we are they wouldnt bat an eye at hiring us, but someones character and work ethic is not something that can be seen on an application or really not much in an interview. I know we can do it albeit will be very different from the days when I drove OTR in the mid 90'S, but maybe I will adjust. At least I wont have to drive a cabover or doublestick, or I better not. So we will be leaving for the bus station in a bit. Our son's taking us to eat before we go so we will have fat(fatter) bellies for the start of the bus ride.

    Poobah Thanks this.
