Jess, sorry to hear things didn't work out well and as to directions, sounds like JJ pretty well had it covered.
JJ how did your 1 st drill go and was it all you expected?
Linebacker, I'd make a great trainer cause if you can screw something up, I've done it. # problems with it tho. 1) I don't work for Central and 2) it just about killed me being with a trainer for 4 weeks when I was training. Don't want to say that I'm antisocial but........people in SMALL amounts, work well for me. lol

    Linebacker51 Thanks this.

Rc4, am sure that once 1Bad gets back on here he can answer your questions better but from what I can remember from reading this thread (I'm not a Central driver), company drivers have no amenities except for maybe a bunk heater. If your looking for APU's and inverters, look somewhere else.

Funny you should ask these questions I was just loggin on to give everyone the insurance updates that will go into effect Feb 1 2010 they are as follows:
Central is switching from United Healthcare to Cigna for Medical and dental here are the prices:
    <5 yrs of service
Single: 26.06 weekly for Medical/Vision/ RX
    5.21 Dental
    Family: 91.00 M/V/ RX
    11.72 Dental

    5-10 Years service
    Single: 19.54 M/V/RX
    3.91 Dental
    Family: 72.00 M/V/RX
    8.76 Dental
Over 10 years you better take the insurance it's so cheap you would be a fool not to.
This is a PPO plan so your copays and deductibles are as follows:
    Physician co-pay is $30
In network deductible is $1,000 for single/ $3,000 for family
Out of netword deductible is $1,500 for single/ $4,500 family
    No mental health is covered
No longer a deductible for RX
RX co-pays are as follows: Generic $10 (mail order $20 for 3 months supply) Brand $25 (mo $50 3 mths supply) Non Formulary $50 (mo $100 3 mth supply)

Vision is pretty standard yearly exam with a $30 co-pay , glasses every 2 Contacts every 12 as long as you stay in the network. $140 allowance on frames.

Then of course they is supplemental life you can opt for (Central gives you $10,00 for free), AD&D, Long and Short term disablity and 401K after a year of service. All these prices depends on the amount of coverage you want and your age.

None of the trucks come equiped with anything other than a bed and hopefully your truck will have cabinets.......lololol you have to provide everything. HOld your receipts for what you buy b/c anything you buy for the truck is tax deductible. If you are lucky to get a lease truck that has been turned in you may be one of the very few company drivers that have an APU. Central won't don't this standard unless the government steps in and we all know it will be a cold day you know where when that happens.

I hope this helps you and anyone else that is wondering what the insurance is changing to. I gave this info straight off the packet that they sent to us for re-enrollment due by 1/15/10. OH yeah you get a week off after a year no idea how the figure the pay tho sorry.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Surely you jest that the trucks have amenties. You get a truck, and a bed. There are hookups for a TV and a CB. and a bunk heater. Everthing else is on your own nickle.

I have an inverter, a microwave, a dorm room fridge, george forman grill, TV, XBOX, and of course Sirius Satellite radio, and the computer.

Trucks have ICON or TAS idle control, but for cocmpany drivers no APU's unless you are lucky enough to get one that was on a leased truck even then they jerk it off and rent it out to another owner op.

You get 5 days vacation after one year.

Hometime is one day off for every week you are on the road up to a max of 4 days off, run for 3 weeks get 3 days off, run for 4 get 4, run for 2 months you still only get 4 days. You just have to let your DM know 9 days in advance of where and when you want your hometime.

    Other than that welcome

They let me drop my load from hell in Orient, I am 50 miles from home, I'm going home to do a 34hr restart.

We will now have a moment of silence for the driver that has to go to the Bronx and Boston...Eh that was about long enough

Next holiday??? I'm still trying to get home for the LAST one!!!

At least they're heading me in the right direction. I'm praying for some damaged freight. Got a load of cookies from Lofthouse. They are yummy!!!

Damaged freight doesn't have calories, do they???

lolololol 1bad sold I think is was like 40 pounds of ground beef at a truck stop one night for like $60 I think it was. We have gotten the cream cheese, wheat thins, taco bell taco kits, olives and salad dressing. Being on Kraft def. has it's perks sometimes. And the fireman love us now for the 4 cases of taco kits 1bad gave them and then he brought 2 home for us! :biggrin_255:

We got Turkey and ham from a Sara Lee load, we ate lunch meats for days:biggrin_25519: and a Pallet of Pineapples:biggrin_2552: which we left in a paid truck stop in Florida.

I see the Tide had a tight game against Auburn yesterday and my team Boise state had another win:biggrin_25519: Sorta peeved with the way they run the college ball as the two best teams might not even be in the national Championship game, its all about the all mighty dollar.
