They do that some.
I use to get line hauls on the weekends sometimes from that LTL company Gerry owns.
Dallas to BatonRouge, then deadhead to Houston and hook to bring to New Orleans.
Good weekend run, just have it done by Monday 0500.
I guess those LTL guys don't run weekends much so they had Central and swift do it for them.

 

i did a google search one time and ordered a brand new battery from cellphoneshop.net. $10 total. arrived in 3 days from germany. and lasted much longer then the original battery ever did. the original lasted about 4 months and totally went to craps. couldn't get more then 3 hours without a recharge. the new one lasted 2 days. the original never lasted that long even when the phone was new.

for those that are coming to utah school. make sure you are well informed of what you will need to obtain your license. as there are new laws now.

those of us locals doing a renewal now have to provide our SS card. birth certificate or passport. AND 2 utility bills now. what used to be a 5 minute job is now a full days adventure.

don't know what procedures you out of staters will have to go through now in obtaining your commercial license.

for those wanting hazmat endorsement or thinking of getting. you need to submit fingerprints and obtain TSA clearance, along with some fairly difficult testing. and birth certificate. that's a govt law there. and is required EVERYTIME you renew. no matter what state. $89 total as of my last renewal for hazmat endorsement ONLY.

i spent $135 renewing my license with ALL endorsement. incl. motorcycle.

 

Good afternoon all,
Just out of curiosity, what are all of you Central drivers averaging right now? I know it's the slow season, but I am beginning to get the feeling I did something to anger my DM. I know another guy on my DMs fleet who is getting 2000+ a week and lately I've been getting 1200-1600. I'm trying to keep my head up and trudge through it...but if I did something to make him not want to give me the longer loads...I'd like to know!

 

Well finally set up my Dish tv for the 1st time. Took me awhile to get it right and it will go faster each time but hey!!!!!! I can now watch tv!!! IF anything is on. lol So go ahead company, bring on them waits, I's ready for ya now. lol
Iceman, as for ticking off your DM, I seem to do that on a regular basis with mine. Might ask him if you did something and if so what it was, just to clear the air. Could just be the area your in. BTW, not a central driver myself.

 

You could be in that short mile loop, JJ as a L/O was only getting between 1900-2500 in the last few weeks before he quit.

I think Central don't have the freight for all the new drivers they are putting through the school and some FMs just don't give a ####.

When I was in the hospital several years ago the last thing on my mind was getting lucky! Ok.. maybe not the LAST thing but it wasn't way up there like usual!

Just got back from the movies. Saw Avitar. Very good movie, but allot of people had brought young kids, and it was totally not a childrens movie.
Should be at least PG if not PG-13.
