I just take the doomed loads anyway and immediately send a msg on QC saying that its going to fail because of xxxxx. must repower or reschedule appt. So IF it does happen to get there on time, it looks good on me, if it DOES fail looks bad on the DM because I warned of it. I know DM / plannergames... my friend used to dispatch for an air freight company.

For all the people who are going to outside schools, figure out who is going to hire you and how much additional training and cost this will involve. A prehire is not a contract.

I know there are a few that hire from outside schools. Stevens (yech) for sure, Werner (yech) most likely, surely a few others. My brother went to a Roadmaster school then got hired on with Stevens (he could probably write his own 300 page thread on the horrors of his training there). He got thru training with them and then hung on for 3 months before moving on to Knight where he is much happier, gets paid better and settled per load, and has a lot of hometime.

Well off to Kinston NC for 01 then WI.

Cali is very tough to park anywhere. Pulled in the J in Lodi at 1515...only about 3 spots left.

So I quit central first day was a bit how do you say dumb. I know it was the first day but still they talked so much crap and lied a lot. They have some guys with cdls already and there charging them to do the same class as the no cdl applicants. So here I am at Ontario airport about to fly home. My plan is now to go get a physical and permit on my own (they gave us cheatsheets) and hire the company out of Sacramento for 500 to practice and test in there combo. Then get a license and work for a local delivery company

Good luck with the test and getting a local. Most places are going to want experience before they hire you, and a road test.

If you've read this thread, why were you surprised Central wasn't as they claimed?

I was planning on going through training with a friend of mine and we are are talking about team driving. Does anyone have any information on this? I'm curious about the pay and how training works for teams or if it's even something we should be thinking about.... Thanks ahead of time for any information anyone can give on this and yes, any and all information will be more then welcome!

I posted this a few times in this forum. I met a friend in training and we decided to team, because we thought two knuckleheads would be better than one in a truck. DON'T DO IT!!!!!

Pay, 30cpm split for all miles. Which means you only make 15 cents a mile they only ran us SOLO miles, and we had 3 different fleet managers. THe way teaming at central works is if you are husband and wife, but if not you are giving away half your paycheck.

We were only running solo miles, sitting alot, and the biggest mile week we had was only 5200 miles and we only had that once most weeks were 3000 or less, our low week was 1000 miles.

    seed1usa Thanks this.
