Starting with Central next month. After some research and looking at CR England,Schneider and CRST they seem to be the best of the big student mills. Any advice

Yeah get six months or 2 years experience with them and move on.
Or become a trainer. Better yet become a O/O and a trainer. -
Keep an eye on all your settlement sheets, don't be afraid to argue with them, be prepared to fight for your money, and be ready to fight OTRM to get anything fixed.
That's all I have to say. -
Thanks for the help

Hey there,
I am going to start the schooling at central on monday, I was wondering about few question.
1. When you take the DMV writen test, do they haul the hole class to the DMV or do the have someone at the school do the test?
2. Also, for the driving test is this done with the DMV or do they have someone at the school that can do it?
Thanks
For your Help!

Depends on your school and your state. I did my written at DMV, but the school I went to has arrangements with the school to do the written at the school now. The road test was done by third party testers at various location. Wisconsin DMV does not do any road tests for commercial licenses though. All CMV road tests are done through third party testers.
whidan Thanks this. -
Hello to all my future peers!
I'm scheduled to start training at Central on February 9th. The recruiter tells me that their drivers are getting between 2500 and 3300 miles per week. I'd like to know what the real story is. I appreciate any help you can give me on this topic.

Freight is slow right now! I think the number would be closer to 1500-2300 a week.
When things get moving again in march April you might see your 3000-3300.
Centrals main problem is short trips with to much time (1500 miles and five days to run it) Load planners have not gotten used to planning loads with the new Paperless logs.
We are L/O so obviously they try gives us more miles so that we can pay our truck payment
JJ has been getting 2200 since he went back to work after Christmas, the week before Christmas he had 3400.
BUT Freight is really slow right now.budroux Thanks this. -
3300!, I would love those kinds of miles because I'm sure as hell not seeing any of that.
I agree JJ, I think they have jumped the gun with the way that are booking these loads now. They were shorting us on time with most loads & now they give us so much time that its crazy.budroux Thanks this.
