Good to hear Chrome! Being home with family is important. JJ ended up having 5 days of over Christmas which was nice.
I have been home since before Thanksgiving and im not liking it at all.
Tink healed up very nicely after her surgury and is now running around driving me insane. How is your Dog doing? Can it be fixed?

But it is convenient. Granted, it gets you stuck sometimes in places but don't forget you got about 7/10th mile elbow room to move. For example, I can get from National Beef to the Flying J without ever going on line 3. Same for most staging areas I've been to. It does suck that company drivers can't use line 5 but...

Thats sucks. I made it home and spent new years eve with about 50 of my friends around and indoor pool party with my bottle of absolut....Good times -
I have been looking into CRS driving school and have spoke to their recruiters. Then I found this site, very informative! I read earlier that you should not expect to make money the first few months out. I thought as company driver you were relatively safe and could make decent money. I realize there are a lot of factors that determine this. Right after you go solo they are not gonna throw you out on a 3200 mile run. In all reality, what can I expect as far as miles and income in the first couple months or so?

Freight is a little slow right now for all L/O and Company drivers. JJ went back to work after Christmas and has had time after his last delivery to get in a 34hr reset. (Not many places open New years day) A lot of how you do miles wise is your Fleet Manager........Try get one out off West Valley Utah.
Central have a few good trainers who really want you to learn and not just get the extra miles outta ya.
As a new guy you will probably start out with a few short runs with a bit of time on them so your FM can see how you do as a Solo driver.
I don't really think anyone can accurately tell how many miles you will get in the first couple of months.
It all depends on Freight, if you have the hrs to run a long trip, what freight is available in certain area's.
I know when JJ was training his pay didn't cover his living expenses on the road, he was a company driver for a few months and made enough to live on the road with a little left over. -
Centrals website hasnt changed in a few years at least. Wonder if they will ever update it

Just like anyone else I need to cover my expenses on the road and still send money home. Thanks for your input.

With any company those first 6 weeks or so are tight.
But remember it will cost you around $200 a week to live OTR if you plan on eating at truck stops. A lot less if you eat out of a cooler.
We have a power inverter so we run a microwave, sandwich maker and a Coffee maker so that saves money its amazing what you can make with a microwave and sandwich maker lol.Baack Thanks this. -
I'll trade you. I was robbed at gunpoint in Sacramento early this morning.
