A bit of a diversion from the current conversation...

I applied to Central... and they turned me down for having a DOT reportable accident on my record.

That would be fine, if it were accurate, though.

Truck ended up in ditch and had to be towed out. As in: onto the road. No injuries, etc. Single vehicle (mine).

But, since I had to have the wrecker show up, CR *insisted* that it was a DOT reportable accident. Even when I quoted from the FMCSR..

It's fine if they don't wanna hire me. Just say "No thank you, you put your truck in the ditch". (story is elsewhere on the board). But to either not know the rules, or use that kind of excuse (and, thereby, making the assertion that the driver in question is a complete moron) just gets under my skin.

    There. I'm done for now.

Y'all can go back to talking about... whatever it was you are talking about.

Sorry to hear that Lurch!!!!!!! I think one of the newbies that just went through Central School said that Central are NOT hiring any experienced or Semi Experienced drivers.

They are of still taking trainee's to there school LOL Surprise Surprise.

It is not only Central that treats Drivers as complete morons, all larger Companies will do that.......drivers are a dime a dozen to them.

    Good luck with other Companies.:yes2557:

I was talking to another driver today. According to her, if you leave central and want to come back, you have to agree to sign a lease with them. So any experienced driver will have to become a lease Op to go to work for central. It's fron another driver, so take it as you will, but she is generally pretty accurate.

That's kind of my thought. If I went through all the right channels to leave Central, I wouldn't want to have to lease a truck to come back if the next job didn't work out.

Things will probably change if the economy improves!

Although they seem to get enough people going through there school, and its cheaper with the Subsidies they get to just employ the students.

    That would suck.
I was guaranteed a rehire by the head of the Kraft fleet at any time. As long as I keep up driving and keep my record clean.
I am usually good at the clean record part. But I was in a hurry today and was running 80 on 80 in PA. Ooops. Did not get caught though.

Well, I finally got to meet up with the elusive JJ ranch, and his sidekick/ex-student 1Bad. We got to talk while we were all stuck in WVC today.

Nice to finally meet you, guys :)
