Definitely in the east coast that's all I've ever seen was older sterling automatics .

I talked to the Central terminal manager here in Toledo, he called a bunch of us he knew, who used to be my TM at Pitt Ohio and asked him about the equipment since the Vitran merger. He said it has not improved and doesn't look to improve in the foreseeable future, at least he was honest. The pay isn't terrible (I think $22.50/hr starting), but the P&D side doesn't get OT until 55 hours and the linehaul side gets to unload their own trailers in the morning on return to the terminal and there is the crappy equipment to deal with as well.

What, the equipment improved the very second the merger happened, for central....All them Vitran trailers are beautifull, the go STRAIGHT down the road!! Such a dream...I got vitran trailers both directions friday night, it rocked..
Them doors are so closey and up and downy...Its neat..LED lights...

In Arizona, I say equipment has gotton way better

I actually read thru the Vitran deal...What a genious Moroun is...Like a 750 million dollar co for 2 million dollars...all them terminals, all that equipment...was blown away, what a waste of life the whole Vitran (U.S.) thing was, geez

Crap changes in everyones life, Never learning to operate a Manual big rig is only shorting them self . Operating different equipment on short notice is a win /win.

OP is very new here, Hard to guess what his/her experience is.

USPS is Automatic with 40 footers and single screw day cabs and Central HAHAHAA last post of mine was perma deleted :biggrin_255:
