    add to all this i must say that before my truck vibrate little bit, i feelt more on empty or bobtail then heaavy loaded and more going uphills then downhills, your truck might do this other way around but you need to find out,do not replace tires until you find the problem,good luck

    Gregor that wouldn't surprise me. I went thru the air ride on the truck I am trading with new bags and a leveling valve (chasing leaks). The ride was much improved (although it wasn't really bad to start), most likely from having the ride height set correctly for once. When I finished, the frame was about an inch higher than it was when I got started. The driver of that truck for the majority of the tire wear was OCD about tire pressure, and it was equipped with cat's eyes from day 1 with the tires. Between the self destructing steers and uneven tread wear on inside drive tires, I'm done with the Yokohamas.

    My son's truck had the wear on the inside drives largely due to poor tire pressure maintenance on his part, in my opinion. The cat's eyes were installed about 7 months after the new tires were put on. The uneven wear was already established at that time, so if anything the cats eyes stopped it from getting worse. If it weren't for the same pattern emerging on my truck with much better maintenance, I'd probably think different. Since then, I replaced one of the drive axle sets with Michelin XDN2 recaps and they are wearing perfectly so far. The Goodyear steers don't have enough miles on them to tell yet. It rides smoother than my truck ever did, even after I fixed the bags and ride height. So I'm not inclined to dive into the air ride just yet on his truck.

    My suspicion is the Yokohama casings are just sub-par. I won't even buy a recap if it's on a Yoko casing.

    in m company fleet yokohamas were the worst tires thats why all trucks and mine drive ONLY bridgestone low pro or r280 on steering and bridgestone or continental (my truck has them ) and bridgestone as drives, firestones were almost as bad as yokohamas, good year are ok but tread dissapear faster then bridgestone (steer tires and drives -soft rubber)......every single truck do at least 160,000 - 180,000 miles on steer tires, we dont use any kind of balancers cuz we dont trust them and they dont help much also they dont fix a problem in truck suspension and/or drive line......also if any problem appear balancers help to hide them cus truck naturally has no balancers,,,,i use and all fleet trucks in my company have tires balanced in traditional method

    Thank you for that information Carrkool. How much water/antifreeze do you recommend for varying sizes of tires from Cars, Trucks and Semis? Do you put it into the steers and drives?

    in a car or pickup about 3/4 cup 50/50 in big trucks 1 1/2 cup for lp pro tires and 2 cups for 11r tires, jumbos steers 2 1/2 cups and SS not sure.

    How long have you been running that S371? Looks like they have very low rolling resistance....How many miles can you get out of those tires?

    I have a set on my steers since last April. A buddy over at Mercer pulling flat has them on his steers + trailers over a 1.5 yr., a friend over here at Landstar (big sleeper truck) runs them on his steers (step deck) and another friend runs them on his 1st drive axle (also a step deck). Mine's a W9 and all three have Peter cars. We're all pretty happy with them and plan to change over with the rest when we wear the others out, except my 17.5 trailer tires. Deep thread, good wear, rock retention are almost non existent, no chunking, etc....we go to job sites / gravel lots to load/unload most of the times and handles well on the hard top. Did I mention they're 16 ply? I used to run strictly Michelins + Bridgestones on steers and was more than a little skeptical but now, I'm sold on them. I wanted the tall rubbers but they won't fit under my full fenders over the drives when I want to move them over, so I went with low pro instead.
