We run the plastic Airsoft 24g in all tires, from motorcycle to the hyway truck..
Freightliner gets 12oz in drives and 16 in the steers, we have loaded them heavy as if too light they will not balance, over weight the extra sorts itself out.. Tires wear about 10% longer..
M.C gets 4oz in rear, 2oz in front, smooth/no vibration...
Centramatic's or balancing beads?

I now use copper BB's.; running ceramic beads the tire temperature is 12 degrees cooler than without beads. im curious what temperature will copper bead get to...musing aloud
-
Use caution with the copper, that's just copper plated steel. Once the copper is worn off, the steel will rust and dust, potentially interfering with the valve sealing. This isn't an issue if you are running nitrogen as it's drier.
-
Nitrogen would be great but who does that for truck tires? Is it even possible for DIY'er to fill tires with nitrogen.
-
Just covering the bases. FWIW, nitrogen is easy, you just get a bottle from the local weld shop and an oxygen regulator. Set the regulator to the pressure you want, or higher for a faster fill, fill to about 80psi, empty, and fill to full pressure. It takes a lot for the initial fill as the air has to be purged out. You really are filling it twice.
rollin coal Thanks this. -
Yeah that was my next question and I always wondered - how do they purge it. Thanks for the pointers this is good info. Nitrogen is the only way to go. Been running it in personal vehicles for years.
