There’s really only two choices USX shouldn’t even be mentioned with Millis or CFI.

CFI if you want to run all 48 or Millis if you want to run East of Texas, Texas included.

Don't worry about the team driving training. You will be glad to have a break from the guy who will probably be commenting on every little thing you do.

Some of my best backing so far has been done when I was alone.. No one trying to tell me what to do, hollering, telling me to hurry up.

My opinion with backing you will learn far more doing it by yourself as long as you are not lazy and get out and look when needed. You can make mistakes in a low pressure situation. If you are stressed because of some egg head then you wont learn as much.

You are in a good location for Millis. Recently got my CDL through Millis and I couldn’t be happier overall. Yeah little things creep up during the process but just have to keep eye on the prize. To be honest I got into trucking for one reason only and that’s money. I’m by no means working my butt off out here and I should easily clear over 50k my first year.
My deciding factor for Millis is and was they have great starting pay compared to the other companies their 401k match is pretty incredible and they have a small company feel.
In my short time here I have never felt like I’m just a faceless anonymous cog in the wheel.

CFI is a really good company, wife and i did their training last year and we did team driving off and on last year. And are currently in the process of going back out. We took a 4 month break because i got a job offer i thought i really wanted, but turns out i miss life on the road even more. I couldnt imagine driving for another company so the first thing i did was call CFI and see about getting this going. And sure enough they are amazing and working on getting us back out on the road ASAP. They are a great company to start with, the training is spot on, and never once has CFI made us feel like just another driver. They have a family culture that really shows. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
