Yep, I'm a new guy. New O/O that is. I have registered to run for CHR but they haven't finished processing my reg yet. Not just CHR though, I'm just signing up with a few big boys to generate some income until I find my niche. So, I'm new to DAT too. It looks like 90% of the DAT loads are CHR. Is this the norm? Also, it's after hours for their dispatch but they post loads constantly? How do you get the loads if there is no dispatch/brokers available. Please answer this one for me, makes no sense. TIA
Posting brokers have the ability to have the system automatically repost a load at periodic intervals. Pushes the load back up to the top of the list.
Could be the location you're searching or version of DAT. I may see about 10 percent CHR on mine. I use the Power version and it has the ability to include/exclude any broker you want. It's a nice feature and the lane rates are absolute gold to someone new to this.
Thanks DSK, I wasn't aware of the different versions unless you mean the different tiers/prices or whatever. I got the $50/mo. one but will upgrade if it helps me.
Are you pulling a van? I’m pulling reefer and there’s plenty of variety. I think upgrading to DAT Power is worth it. You can run multiple searches and there are more tools available. You can also download the DAT Loadboard app and it works very well. Maybe play with trailer type, instead of ANY VAN, select only van air ride and van with logistics, or whatever applies to you. That will better filter what you are really looking for.
Yep, I'm pulling a dry van right now. I just did a one year lease with an easy out. How much is DAT Power per month? I just started looking around. I doubt they will answer the phone on Saturday. I'm pretty frustrated, just started to fill out a couple of packets for brokers and the first one wants 30 days of authority. I'm at 29 days today!!!!! Tired of sitting.
Thanks. I looked at Truckstop last night too but trying to not spend a fortune on load boards before I make a dollar. Of course, gotta subscribe to find the loads. I know all this will be a distant memory soon but it's pretty frustrating to have a truck ready to go and not have a load.......meanwhile I read articles everyday about the national truck shortage.
