My preference is snaps for steel and fall off parts and ratchets for equipment loads. Whomever said snaps were unsafe is an idiot...or someone who broke his nose or knocked out a few teeth popping one open. Oh wait, that's redundant. Takes an idiot to do that.
Nah, just takes a momentary brain fart. They are perfectly safe when used correctly. Get I a hurry tho and well... It hurts. A lot.
So true, and the exact reason I tell myself every time the snaps come out, "Slow down, dummy. You're ugly enough already."
And there are also snap binders that have a threaded side like a ratchet binder so that you can adjust it to a finer level. After we are done debating snaps vs ratchets, could we go over to a gun forum and discuss 9mm vs .40?
